Arrive at airport or railway station and journey for 2 hours to Kalimpong. Blessed with immense natural beauty, Kalimpong is surrounded by snow-capped peaks of mount Kanchenjunga. It nestles at an altitude of 1250 m above sea level at the foothills of the Shivalik Ranges. It was ruled by the Bhutanese for around 155 years before being annexed by the Britishers in the year 1865, following which it became a centre for the trading of wool with Tibet. It is an ideal holiday destination for people who want to enjoy a quiet and peaceful time in the mountains, amidst serene environment. Kalimpong is also a major educational centre with several premier institutions for higher studies. After guests are free to stroll the local markets and shop for a wide variety of products, taste the local cuisine and hangout in one of the numerous cafes.

After breakfast head out for a full day of sightseeing tour of the town. You can visit Mangal Dham, Deolo hills, Dr. Graham’s Homes, Golf Garden, Durpin Dara Hill and Durpin Monastery, Pine View Cactus nursery etc. It is recommended to have lunch at Gompus Restaurant or Café Kalimpong for some local food and buy Kalimpong Swiss cheese and lollipops at Lark’s General store. Return to the hotel/ homestay at the end of the day and have a lovely dinner before a restful night.

After breakfast proceed to Kolakham which is located at a distance of 40 kms and is a 1 hour 30 minutes drive. On the way visit Lava Monastery. Kolakham is a small village located at an altitude of 6500mts overlooking the panoramic beauty of the snow-clad mountain peaks of the Himalayas. It is located within the Neora Valley National Park and consists of 62 Nepali families belonging to the “Rai” community. Visitors have to get a vehicle pass at the entry gate to get here. It is one of the most beautiful and sought after places by adventure loving people and bird watchers. The village is also a paradise for nature loving people. Cradled in the lap of the Neora Valley Reserve Forest, facing the Himalayas it is located 38kms from Kalimpong town. Kolakham and its surrounding areas has plenty of large coniferous pine trees and the exotic rhododendron flowers. Various species of Himalayan birds can be found in the area. This village is largely unknown to many tourists and hence it is a relatively quiet and serene place. The place abounds in natural beauty and many of the local people have their own homestays. Can visit Changey Water Falls after lunch. Evening free to relax.

Post breakfast, journey 2.5 hours to Lataguri in the Dooars Tarai region. On arrival, check into hotel and have your lunch. After a short rest, head out for an evening Safari to Lataguri Forest/ Gorumara National Park. It is a medium-sized park with grasslands and forest. It is primarily known for its population of Indian rhinoceros. The park is rich in its bio diversity and hosts large herbivores including Indian rhinoceros, gaur, Asian elephant, sloth bear, chital, and sambar deer. Small herbivores include barking deer, hog deer and wild boar. There is a comparative lack of large carnivores, with the only big cat being the leopard. Birds at the park include submontane forest species like the scarlet minivet, sunbird, Asian paradise flycatchers, spangled drongo, and Indian hornbill. Numerous woodpeckers and pheasants inhabit the park. Peafowls and migratory are very common.

After breakfast, early morning, leave for excusrion and sightseeing. Visit Samsing, Suntaleykhola in the lap of the Himalayas. The area is known for its diversified flora and fauna - Samsing is a village at around 3000 feet knoiwn for its landscape, tea gardens and the forest. It is also a gateway to Neora Valley National Park - Aivel estate is a treat to watch & Suntaley Khola is named from a stream named Suntaley. After half day excursion to Samsing, Suntalikhola drive to Jhalong & Bindu. Jhalong is a beautiful valley beside Jaldhaka River. You can also have outer view of Jaldhaka Hydral Project. Bindu is another one hour journey from Jhalong at Bhutan border.
