About The Experience

Baisaran Valley, also known as Valley of Shepherds. The valley has also been given the name "mini Switzerland" tag by many travellers because of its beauty. A walk along the meadows is calming and rejuvenating. The valley is home to an array of wildlife, including rare species such as the Himalayan Tahr, Musk Deer, Red Fox, and Snow Leopard. A variety of migratory birds also visit the valley, making it a popular spot for birdwatchers. It is also an important habitat for the endangered Himalayan brown bear.
The trek definitely needs some amount of endurance, but do not let the the local pony owners discourage you as it is a much better idea to trek up on foot (if you are moderately fit). The wide, mud track, as you trek up from Pahalgam is wonderfully shaded on one side by Deodhar trees with flawlees valley views on the other side.
