Tree of Life Grand Oak Manor is a colonial-era heritage resort nestled within the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary in Uttarakhand. Situated atop the Kumaon Hills, approximately 25 km from Almora, this 40-acre estate offers a serene retreat amidst oak and rhododendron forests. Originally built in 1856 by General Sir Henry Ramsay, the British Commissioner of Kumaon, the property has retained its old-world charm and is now managed by Tree of Life Resorts & Hotels.

The property and the gardens are very nicely maintained - especially when you consider the difficulty and challenges that the team face in terms of limited access to resources and park restrictions. They do an excellent job and really pay attention to the details. There are fresh flowers throughout the property, home made cakes and jams, strawberries picked from the garden.

The location offers 360° view of valleys and snowy hills. The service is excellent. The rooms are neat and comfortable even at freezing temperatures while offering amazing views.  The heritage property showcases charming English architecture that adds to its timeless appeal.
