Yuksom-Sachen (Dzongri trek starts from today) (2684m)
Day - 3

Yuksom-Sachen (Dzongri trek starts from today) (2684m)

Our trek starts at Yuksom and will about 6-8 hours to climb the 16 km from Yuksom to Bhakim and to Sachen. The trail undulates through moss laden forests of oak, chestnut, pine, firs, magnolia and rhododendron. It is really a botanist paradise. Here in this forest hundreds of varieties of wild orchids vie for attention with a similar number of different kinds of birds and butterflies.
The trail crosses three side streams over sturdy wooden bridges and then the Prek Chu river before a steep ascent up the opposite bank (which should take about an hour or two). Throughout the whole trek, trails are well-maintained with plenty of switchbacks. Enroute to Bakhim you are likely to encounter herders with their yaks and cows. The last 3 - 4 km involves knee-grinding ascent towards Bakhim and onwards to our rest for the night at Sachen.

Sarchen to Tsokha (3048m)
Day - 4

Sarchen to Tsokha (3048m)

Beyond Bakim, we enter a temperate forest that is loaded with huge Rhododendrons. The trail climbs steeply to 3950m, where we emerge from the forest to our first views of Mount Pandim, Kangchenjunga, Kabur, Kabru and the other
7000 and 8,000 metre peaks of this part of the Himalayas. Today will be more relaxing as you will only trek about 1-2 hours to Tsokha, a nice village of Yakmen. You will spend the whole day resting and acclimatizing.

Tsokha- Dzongri (4024m)
Day - 5

Tsokha- Dzongri (4024m)

After breakfast, begin your ascent to Dzongri. This 11 km section from Tsokha to Dzongri takes about 6 to 7 hours to complete. The trail climbs steeply through dense forests of rhododendrons and oak trees, and you will cross several small streams and waterfalls. You will also pass through a beautiful meadow called Phedang, which is a great spot for a quick break and some snacks. As you continue trekking, the trail will open up to stunning views of the surrounding hills and mountains, including Mount Pandim, Mount Kabru, and Mount Jopuno. You will also pass through a series of prayer flags and small shrines.

After a few hours of trekking, you will reach Dzongri, which is a beautiful meadow located at an altitude of 4,020 meters. Dzongri is surrounded by stunning peaks and is a popular spot for sunrise and sunset views. You can rest and relax for the remainder of the day and explore the surroundings
