Tour Itinerary

Srinagar to Bangus Sightseeing
Day - 1

Srinagar to Bangus Sightseeing

Post Breakfast, transfer to Bangus. The drive takes around 3-4 hours and in between if you have an early start we recommend stopping for a bite a bit early on before we move more into the offbeat locations where options get a bit more limited.

  • Check in the guest house at Reshwari Bangus. Explore both small and big Bangus. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the lush meadows of Bangus.
  • Bangus Valley itself is protected and one is not allowed to stay the night there and is more of a day visit where you can explore around walking and finding a nice quiet spot to take in the landscape.
  • For those interested, more dedicated hiking can be added to your trip with the help of a local guide. This is optional.

Night stay at Bangus.

Bangus to Lolab and local Sightseeing
Day - 2

Bangus to Lolab and local Sightseeing

Post Breakfast, drive to Lolab. The valley is full of serenity and exotic experiences. You will reach Lolab by early afternoon as the distance is barely 60 kms.

  • Spend the rest of the day exploring Lolab Valley.
  • The idea to break journey at Lolab is to slow down the pace of your travel and be able to spend time at leisure relaxing and also exploring the rich meadows of the beautiful valleys.

Night stay in a guest house at Lolab.

Transfer to Gurez
Day - 3

Transfer to Gurez

Drive to the now largely popular offbeat valley of Gurez after breakfast.

  • As you will leave Lolab you will be going through the beautiful countryside and reaching the breath-taking Wular Lake – the largest freshwater lake in India.
  • The road takes an upward hilly path from Bandipora and you will be amazed to see the panoramic view at Razdan Pass – The pass connecting Kashmir mainland to Gurez. Stop here for some memorable pictures and have tea or coffee at a nearby dhaba.
  • The drive from Lolab to Gurez distance will be approximately 160 kms and take you roughly 5 hours depending on stops.

A meal/refreshment break we recommend the famous Log Hut Café run the Indian Army which you can take before or after exploring a bit more of Gurez.

  • Your driver will take you to the ever-fascinating Kishanganga River. This is the river that is the lifeline of Gurez. It originates in Kashmir and then goes over to Pakistan. There is a huge dam built here which you will feel is a large freshwater lake. Take your time exploring the area.
  • Another interesting spot you will visit is Khandyal Top. This is a top which gives a panoramic view of the entire Dawar Valley of Gurez. From Khandyal Top you can take up a short hike if you love to explore the trails.

Night stay at Gurez.

Day 4: Gurez & Tulail Sightseeing
Day - 4

Day 4: Gurez & Tulail Sightseeing

Today we start first by exploring Habba Khatoon Peak and Spring
Habba Khatoon Spring(locally known as Habba Khatoon Uch ) is located on the outskirts of Achoora Village and it is believed that Habba Khatoon (a famous poetess),once took water in an earthen pot (Clay Handi) from the nearby river and upon moving towards her hut ,the pot fell down and broke which then gave rise to a spring at that very same spot.

  • Explore the village nearby called Chorwan village which is a border village and post this village is the Pakistan area.
  • Drive further to the famous fairy tale village – Sheikh Pora Village. This is a model village that is settled at the banks of a river and is absolutely stunning with mountain backdrops.
  • Take a stroll through this village to explore the local architecture and culture of the local Shina/dard speaking tribe here.
  • You can enjoy the local food here too.

Night stay at Gurez.
