Sikkim & Darjeeling Tour

On arrival at airport, our representative will meet you and you will be transfer to Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim. The drive is parallel the Teesta river for much of the way and driving time is approx. 4.5hrs.

Overnight at Gangtok: Basnett Croft Homestay/Similar

Morning around 9:30 am after completing permit formalities, our car will pick you from your residence and move towards Lachen. Travel time is approx. 5.5 hrs (including stops for lunch and sightseeing on the way). Lachen is the last permanent settlement en-route to Gurudongmar lake.

It’s is a sleepy village with simple hospitable hotels and homestays within the village. There are some sights of interest one can visit on the way towards Lachen. Highlights: Seven sister waterfalls, Singik view point, Naga Wtaerfalls, Chungthang.

Overnight at Lachen: Dathup Homestay/Similar

Early morning around 6:30am, move out for day excursion to Gurudongmar Lake & Thangu Valley (The day starts early as Gurudongmar being located at close to 18,000 feet requires an early turn around to avoid getting caught in bad weather). Driving time from Lachen to Gurudongmar lake is 3 hours one way. After sightseeing, return to Lachen for lunch and post lunch, leave for Lachung.

The day covers considerable ground exploring the famous Yumthang Valley (Valley of Flowers) situated at 12,000 feet in the Singba Rhododendron Sanctuary  and visit Yumthang Hopspring on the way back to Lachung. Driving time from Lachung to Yumthang 1.5 hours one way. Post sightseeing, drive down to Gangtok.

Overnight at Gangtok: Basnett Croft Homestay/Similar

Post breakfast at Gangtok, depart for the popular hill station - Darjeeling. Driving time of approx. 4 hrs. Vehicle will stop at some places of nice places like "Triveni viewpoint" where you can see the confluence of the 2 major rivers ‘Rangeet’ and ‘Teesta’. On to the Lopchu tea gardens where you are free to stop for a nice cup of brewed tea. You can then proceed onward to Darjeeling main town where your vehicle will drop you off at the Hotel/homestay.

We recommend a nice walk to explore Chowrastha - the main old mall, where you will find plenty of cafes and eateries. Visit the Glenarys for some great comfort food and excellent Darjeeling Tea.

Overnight at Darjeeling: Little Singamari Homestay/Similar

Early morning at around 4 AM drive to (Tiger Hill) - 8000 feet / 2440 meters through primitive forests of oak & magnolia to view sunrise over Kanchendzonga Peak (subject to clear weather). On the way back visit Ghoom Monastery & Batasia Loop. Back to homestay/hotel for breakfast.

After breakfast rest for sometime and proceed towards next round of sight-seeing covering the places like Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center, Japanese Temple & Ropeway.

Overnight at Darjeeling: Little Singamari Homestay/Similar

Post breakfast, depart for the Bagdogra Airport/NJP Railway Station. Driving time is approx 3.5 hrs.
