After breakfast drive to Kargil via Sonamarg and Drass through the adventurous Zojila Pass. Drass (3280 mts) is the second coldest inhabited place in the worl after Siberia and is famous for the 1999 Kargil war. Onwards drive to Drass and pay homage to the Kargil War Heroes at the famous Kargil War Memorial. Attend the brief history of the Kargil war memorial by an Army Jawan if available. After breakfast leave for full day excursion to the enchanting Suru Valley. Suru Valley is one of the most fertile and picturesque valley of the region. It extends from Kargil in the south towards Zanskar in the north. Visit the 7th century 7 Mtrs tall Maytre Buddha statue at Karcheykhar. Also the ruins of the Karchaykhar could be seen. The valley is framed for NUN (7135Mtrs) and Kun (7035 Mtrs) along with other lesser peaks which is seen from the camping site at Damsna if the weather permits.
