Dhungay Homestay

Dhungay Homestay was built in 1970s and renovated and converted in 2005, Dhungay Homestay belongs to Kunwar Family,whose older members are addressed locally as Dhungay so a landmark the House name it's kept as Dhungay Homestay. The Homestay is located in a beautiful village of Martam in between of Hee and Bermiok (in West Sikkim), at an altitude of 1500meter with magncifent view of Mt Khanchendzonga and the Indo Nepal Boder. The House is built in nepali tradition style made of bamboo, wood and stone. The Homestay has a farm land with domestic and pet animals cow, chicken,cats , dogs . The House has its own organic farm and grown crops and vegetables like potatoes, Isquash, onion, beans spanich, garlic, etc and largely grown cashcrop like cardomom.

If you are a budget traveller and search for quiet places filled with solitude, well this is the best you can find. The owner Ganesh Chhetri is the most humble and positive man one can have as a host. He and his whole family are very friendly and very welcoming. He prepares warm fire in his kitchen, eats with the guest and also prepares itinerary. If you are a first time visitor in sikkim and don't know where to go, he's the best man you can ask for suggestions to. There are also some nice day treks that you can go for from the homestay. The House has seperate cottages with five Rooms attached toilet and bath rooms with Western toilet and gyser, The House has a open space lawn garden with own parking in the House. 

It takes about 1.5 hours to reach Dhungay Homestay from Pelling in West Sikkim.
