Set high above Anini town, Karu Resort is one of those places that instantly make you pause and take in the view. From the hilltop, you can see the entire town spread out below, surrounded by mist and mountains. The setting feels calm and open, with plenty of space in the middle for groups to gather, talk, or sing late into the night. The accommodation is simple but comfortable. There are small huts and the newer cottage.
The cottage is well built and offers more privacy, while the huts are basic but good enough for short stays. Reaching the resort is quite an adventure. The road climbs steeply through the hillside and has several sharp turns. In some parts, only one car can pass at a time, so drivers often have to adjust or reverse slightly to let the other vehicle go through. As the owner mentioned, many visitors turn back after seeing how high and narrow the road is. But if you can handle a little adrenaline, the view at the top makes it completely worth it. The property is still being developed, and the owner mentioned plans to widen the road in the coming years.
The place covers a large area, with a separate snooker room and another building inside the property. About a twenty to thirty minute walk from the main complex, there is a small patch of grassland with wooden bridges and lovely spots for photos. The resort also has its own orange orchard, which adds colour and freshness to the surroundings.
There is also a problem with how the resort appears on Google Maps. The current pin leads to a different property nearby, which can be confusing for first-time visitors. It’s best to call the owner for directions, especially if you are arriving after dark.
Despite a few rough edges, staying here feels like an adventure mixed with serenity. The view from the top, the quiet air, and the sense of remoteness make it one of the most memorable stays in Anini
