There are two National Highways that cross through Dimapur. NH 39 connects Kohima, Imphal and Dimapur to the rest of the country, NH 36 connects Assam (Nagaon) with Dimapur. Regular state transport buses play on a daily basis on these National Highways and tourists can avail them to reach Kohima.

  • The Triple Falls: Located in Seithekima village, these three glistening waterfalls cascade down from a height of 280 ft into a natural pool, creating a stunning sight. The falls are sequestered deep inside the lush tropical jungle and require a hike to reach.
  • Nagaland Bamboo Resource Centre: This institution conducts important research on bamboo and is one of the few places in the region dedicated to studying this versatile plant. It's a good place to learn about the many uses of bamboo.
  • Zoological Park: Located 6 km from the city center, the Zoological Park aims to spread awareness about protecting the region's flora and fauna. It's home to a variety of unique birds that attract many birdwatchers.
  • Nagaland Science Centre: Situated behind the Naga Shopping Arcade, this science center promotes creative learning through interactive exhibits that introduce the wonders of science to visitors.
  • Rangapahar Reserve Forest: Famous for its medicinal plants and unique bird species, this reserve forest attracts many birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts. It's located in the Singrijan region.
  • Chumukedima: An ancient village situated on the foothills of the Naga Hills, Chumukedima is known for its waterfalls and is located in the Dimapur district headquarters.
  • Diezephe Village: This village is well-known for its aesthetic handlooms, handicrafts, and various workshops organized by the local craft and development society. It's a great place to shop for traditional Naga textiles and souvenirs.
