By Air
Dehradun Airport or Jolly Grant Airport is the closest airbase to Rishikesh, which is approximately 20 km away. Prominent carriers like Air India Regional, SpiceJet and Jet Airways have flights from New Delhi on a daily basis. Travellers, after reaching the airport, can hire taxis or opt for bus services, which are easily available from here. Indira Gandhi International Airport at Delhi is the second closest airport to Rishikesh (250 km away), which is well-linked with all prime cities in India and across the globe. Rishikesh has its own railway station but it is not connected to major Indian cities apart from Haridwar. Some popular trains that run from Delhi to Haridwar include Shatabdi Express, Jan Shatabdi, and Mussoorie Express, among others.
