Ziro Facts

Ziro is a town and the district headquarters of the Lower Subansiri district in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. It is included the Tentative List for UNESCO's World Heritage Site for the Apatani cultural landscape. The part of the town which is the centre of economic activities and where the administrative offices are located is called as Hapoli or locally known by the Apatanis as "Hao-Polyang".

The nearest international airport of Ziro is at Guwahati at a distance of about 449 kms. Now there is also a new airport, Donyi Polo Airport situated in Itanagar which has direct flights from Kolkata, Delhi and Mumbai. Ziro valley is about 130 kms from the airport and it takes about 3 hours to reach Ziro.

The nearest railway station to reach Ziro is Naharlagun. Guwahati to Naharlagun train takes nearly 8 hours to cover the distance. After which it is a 4-hour drive to reach Ziro. Road: To reach Ziro, there are direct buses which are available from North Lakhimpur and Itanagar

Car
Car By Road

There is a night bus from Guwahati to Ziro. The bus, operated by the Arunachal Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation runs four days a week. Alternatively, one can travel to North Lakhimpur or Itanagar and take a shared taxi to Ziro from there.
