2. Taste of Tibet – Best Tibetan Food in Gangtok   

Operational from the past few decades, Taste of Tibet is a locally certified and well loved restaurant which serves the best of Sikkimese food. A special delight to the non-vegetarian tongue, Taste of Tibet is bustling with food, people and savory delights all day long. The momo here are a speciality, which are juicy and succulent. The thenthuk is made with special hand made noodles meant for the purpose, the chowmein is delightfully spicy and a platter of pork dry fry is just what you could be craving for. This is famous for its non veg options and is not recommended for pure vegetarians.

3. The Local Café – For Sikkimese Coffee and Laphing  

Tucked away neatly in a corner of the New Market area, The Local Café is a recent addition to one the best of cafés in Gangtok. Popular for its Laphing and cappuccinos, one can either sit inside the café, or bask in the setting sun outside as you enjoy a steaming mug of coffee, cheesecake, laphing, tshampa (local barley) shake or the spicy Himalayan Cheese Pizza. They have two branches - one at MG Marg and the other at Vajra Shopping Complex.

4. The Coffee Shop – Italian Flavours and Himalayan Breakfast  

Although Italian cuisine could be a little dicey if not done correctly, The Coffee Shop has outdone itself as one of the best places in Gangtok that serves delicious pizzas, creamy pastas  and a host of other café and deli food. Also popular for its multifarious collection of wines and  all day breakfast, The Coffee shop is an ideal place for an Italian meal teamed with the variety of wines. 5. Baker’s Café – Best Bakery frequented by the OGs of Gangtok    

Baker’s café has been “the café” of Gangtok since times immemorial. As such you will find a sizable crowd of old patrons gathered in the evenings over a cup of coffee. Cost effective and exceptionally warm, it has been named as one of the best places for bakes, confectioneries, pizza, pasta and an assorted array of shakes, tea, coffee and all day breakfast platters . An excellent space to hangout with a bunch of friends or even alone, it offers numerous selections both from the menu as well as the bakery display of vegetarians and non-vegetarians items. The décor which consists of miniatures and memorabilia  collected from around the world gives an insight into the well travelled and well thought out nature of the owner. 6. S’yuo Cha – Best Tea House with Fusion Korean Food   

A Tea House specialising in the finest collection of crafted Himalayan tea, tea based cocktails & oriental bites along with other lip smacking food. They serve excellent Korean and Japanese cuisine and our favourite dishes were the speciality teas and salmon onigiri. The fusion comes with the owner’s sense of travel and amazing taste that he as gathered as a result.      
Must Haves: Passion fruit ice tea, Kimbap, Gyoza and Chrysanthemum speciality tea.

7. Café Fiction – Best Book Café in Gangtok   

Although there is no dearth of cafes in Gangtok, Café Fiction is the only book café which serves delectable fares and all day breakfast menu in addition to momo, finger food and locally brewed coffee.
