Kutmadan Resort in Cherrapunjee (Sohra) is beautiful small property away from the rush in Sohra. It is a small three cottage (five rooms) property in a slightly larger plot of land just next to the humdrum of an epic drama of dancing clouds, angry winds and heavy rain. "Kut" means "end" and "Madan" means land or field. True to it's name, the resort is located at the end of a cliff below which the whole Bangladesh valley is visible. the view from the cliff is just mesmerizing especially during sunrise and sunset. The property is maintained well and clean room. The rooms are rustic and gives that antique feel. The staff are very accommodating and specially Fredrick was very helpful and smilingly attended to our requirements. The food is also quite good. The only problem is that the network around the property is really poor. But a good place if you want to disconnect from people and have a amazing stay and view with a bonfire.
To get to Cherrapunji town, you can hire taxis from Paltan Bazaar bus stand in Guwahati or get a pre-paid taxi from the airport itself. Technically, the Umroi Airport (91 km) near Shillong is the nearest airport to Cherrapunji.
By Train
Guwahati acts as the nearest railhead to Cherrapunji. Although it lies at a distance of 181 km from this region, bus serviceor taxis can be availed from the railway station. Guwahati railway station is well connected to the entire country and regular trains carry passengers to and fro.
By Road
Buses for Cherrapunji leave from the Sohra Bus Stand in the Bara Bazaar area of Shillong.
