The Laitiam Riverside Eco-Tourism Hub is a community-based tourism initiative in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya, India. Laitiam Village is about 17 km from Sohra. It is a village surrounded by forest, rivers and deep gorges where beautiful waterfalls emerge in the summer season such as the Kshaid Nohsngithiang and others.
Laitiam Riverside Eco Park is a peaceful and scenic place surrounded by nature. The sound of the flowing river, the greenery, and the fresh air make it a perfect spot to relax and unwind. The whole place is run by people from the Laitiam village and they've done a very good job at that. The staff & care takers are well behaved and very polite. They are always ready to assist and help at any time.
The area is clean and well-maintained. Great for picnics, photography, and spending quiet time with friends or family. The locals are friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended for nature lovers!
Please note that you have to walk a long distance to reach the place, almost a 15 minutes walk.The resort's location is quite remote, making it difficult to access, especially for families with young children or elderly members. The staff will help you with the luggage.
