Dong Valley and Anini Arunachal Tour

Our driver will pick you up from the Dibrugarh airport and drive you to Namsai. Arrive to Namsai by evening. Evening leisure time at your Guesthouse. Driving time is approx.3.5 hrs driving time depending on traffic.

Today after breakfast at Namsai, we drive along the Lohit River and reach Walong by evening. Walong is a small cantonment area in Arunachal Pradesh and is the eastern most town where the first sun rays fall in India. Walong is Home of Mishmi tribe. Walong is mainly known for its memorials to the Indians died during the 1962-sino Indian war. En-route exploring Hawa camp (sightseeing). On arrival Walong, check into homestay.

Early morning 2:00am, leave for Dong valley. Meet and greet with our guide on the way and head towards sunrise view point along with him/her at 2:30am. We will start trekking towards Dong valley (first sunrise point - altitude of 1240 metres, Dong is placed at a strategic location of tri-junction of three countries namely, India, Myanmar and China. The place is enriched with natural beauty and is a photographer paradise. You will embark on a short but steep trek from the village of Dong to a vantage point high in the surrounding mountains. The trek takes around 2 hours and is best done in the early morning hours, starting as early as 2 am, to reach the peak before sunrise around 4:30 am.

The trail winds through lush pine forests and grassy meadows, offering stunning views of the valley below. Once at the top, you can set up a bonfire to keep warm while waiting for the sun to rise. It is also a good idea to carry some packed snacks (biscuits, chocolates, tea in a flask) so that you can eat something when you reach the top. Please don't forget to bring all the plastic packets/garbage back with you. As the first light appears over the mountains on the Myanmar border and the sun's rays illuminate the soaring peaks acrosAs the valley, witnessing India's First Sunrise is a magical experience. Goosebumps are in order. 

After trekking, it is a good idea to visit the hot spring at Tilam, a small village near Dong. It is great way to naturally detox your skin and relax after the trek. Sulphur rich hot spring will boost your healthy relaxation and stress relief deep in your nerves and muscles.

After that return to your homestay in Walong. Freshen up, take a shower and enjoy a hearty breakfast before setting out again.

Later in the morning, drive towards Kibitho, a remote frontier village located close to the India–China border. Continue to Kaho, one of India’s easternmost villages, beautifully situated along the Lohit River amidst dramatic Himalayan landscapes.

Spend the afternoon exploring Kibitho and Kaho, experiencing the remote landscape, traditional villages and unique local culture of this frontier region. The journey offers an opportunity to experience a part of Arunachal Pradesh that remains far removed from conventional tourist trails.

Return to Walong in the evening and relax at your homestay.

Post breakfast, depart for the small off-beat village of Wakro in the heart of the Kamlang wildlife sanctuary. This is a largely unknown settlement for commercial tourist circuits and is a lovely little stay and good to break journey as you make your ay across to the Anini side of the travel itinerary.

We recommend post early lunch, you proceed to visit the holy Parshuram Kund shrine on the banks of the Lohit river. This will be a 45 minute drive one way.

Evening we recommend a bonfire or just relax at the homestay and enjoy some good local hospitality Alternatively, the sanctuary is home to the both the Clouded Leopard and the Bengal Tiger, and sometimes the wildlife rangers are available if you join them for a stroll into the forests.

Post breakfast, we make our way back to the point of diversion which leads us to explore a different region of Eastern Arunachal. The drive is short to about 2 hours and we recommend you check in to your stay and head out for lunch. This is an important day to get some rest and the next few days will invlve more heavy travel as distances in Arunachal can be large.

After Breakfast Transfer to Anini. On the way you can enjoy valley of Mishmi Hill and scenarios. In Ranli village you can take lunch break and later continue your journey. Driving time is approx. 7 hrs, depending on climate and road.

Evening is leisure time.. Driving time : 7 to 8 hrs

Stay: Homestay in Anini (Mishmi Hills Resort) or Similar

After Breakfast driving toward valley of Dri valley, it is marked by pleasant weather and immense natural beauty, making it a tourist’s paradise. Valley is blessed with beautiful lake and water banks. After check in resort, small trekking for Mawa aando Falls and witness beauty of valley. Those Interested, can enjoy a nature walk around the resort. Evening is leisure time. Driving time from Anini to Acheso (Chigu Camp) is close to 1.5 hours. Tips- Take some snacks and water bottle Driving time : 1.5 hrs

After Breakfast, enjoy the morning half of some light hikes. Explore the natural lakes and picturesque mountain backdrops, Acheso is a sight to behold. This is a destination for those seeking quiet time in the midst of nature and as such there are no designated ‘sightseeing points’. 

Afternoon depart for your return journey to Anini. Tips – Take snacks and water bottle Driving time : 1.5 hrs

Today after breakfast, drive back to Roing, approx. 7 to 8 hrs. Evening leisure time in Roing
