Day 1: Guwahati to Shillong

Day 2: Shillong to Mynkre

Distance : 3 hr 3 min (101.3 km)

- Evening: Enjoy the calm atmosphere of Mynkre. You can also visit a local market if you’re interested in exploring the village vibe and back to Stay.

Day 3: Mynkre to Mawlynnong

Distance : 3 hr 57 min (106.5)

Stay : Iaratong Homestay (1 Night)
Morning: After breakfast at the hotel, head towards Mawlynnong (around a 2-hour drive). Mawlynnong is known as the cleanest village in Asia and is surrounded by lush greenery.

Afternoon: Check in at Iaratong Homestay, a lovely traditional Khasi-style homestay that offers an authentic cultural experience.

Explore Mawlynnong Village: Walk around the village to admire its cleanliness and orderliness. Visit the living root bridge, a unique natural structure made from tree roots, and take a short trek around the village’s beautiful surroundings.

Morning: Start your day with a good breakfast, and then head to the Double Decker Living Root Bridge in Nongriat. You’ll need to hike down the hill (approximately 1.5-2 hours each way) to reach this stunning, natural bridge.

The walk is long but incredibly rewarding with views of waterfalls, dense forests, and traditional Khasi villages along the way.

Afternoon: After visiting the root bridge, you can also explore the Cherrapunjee Eco Park for breathtaking views of the valleys and surrounding hills.

If time allows, visit Dainthlen Waterfall or explore more of Cherrapunjee’s caves and natural wonders.

Evening: Return to La Kupar Inn for a relaxing evening. Enjoy a meal and unwind after a long day of hiking and exploration.
 

Day 6: Cherrapunjee to Mawphanlur 

Distance : 2 hr 33 min (94.1 km)

Morning: After breakfast, make your way to Mawphanlur, a remote village known for its natural beauty and serenity (around 3-4 hours drive from Cherrapunjee).

Afternoon: Spend the afternoon exploring the natural beauty of Mawphanlur. Take short nature walks, visit local villages, and enjoy the tranquility of the region. Mawphanlur is not widely visited by tourists, so it’s a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the serenity.

You can also visit the Mawphanlur Waterfalls and nearby scenic viewpoints.

Evening: Enjoy a homemade dinner at the guesthouse, where you can try more traditional Khasi delicacies. You can also socialize with fellow travelers or the friendly hosts.

Night: Rest and relax in the peaceful surroundings, taking in the fresh air and the sounds of nature.
 

Day 7: Mawphanlur to Guwahati 

Distance : 3 hr 37 min (138.6)
Morning: After breakfast, pack your bags and check out of Travelers Nest. Depending on your departure time, you may drive back to Shillong or Guwahati for your onward journey.
