Some last tips while booking your stay in Cherrapunji:

There are not as many good homestays in Cherrapunji as Shillong but some of them including Monica's Homestay are really good. By and large Cherrapunji (original name Sohra) has more resorts and most of these resorts have ample space/ garden in front with parking. Another point to note is that there is no main shopping centre as such in Cherrapunji with a vibrant, buzzing market like Police Bazaar in Shillong. So guests should ideally not have the “close to city centre” criteria while choosing a good stay in Cherrapunji. It is easy to navigate in a car with big roads and ample parking. Another important point is that there are not many good resorts, homestays in Cherrapunji and there is excess demand, almost throughout the year because lot of tourists from Guwahati come to Cherrapunji for weekend getaway. Therefore, when you get room availability in a good stay in Cherrapunji, it is highly recommended to book it immediately.
